Perfect White Rice

Ingredients
- 2 cups white rice, rinsed
- 2 cups water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt, to taste
Instructions
- In a medium pot, combine the rinsed rice, water, olive oil, and salt.
- Bring to a boil over high heat, stirring frequently to prevent the rice from sticking.
- Continue cooking until most of the water has evaporated, about 3–4 minutes.
- Stir once more, then cover tightly and reduce the heat to low.
- Do not lift the lid or stir during cooking. Let the rice simmer gently for 20 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let rest, covered, for 5 minutes. Then fluff gently with a fork or spoon to loosen the grains slightly.
